We're Glad You're Here!

Welcome to the blog...

Here at Children International, we’ve been making life a little easier for children who live in poverty since 1936.

Because of our wonderful and dedicated sponsors, we are able to provide over 324,000 children with medical and dental services, educational and nutritional assistance and even the most basic of needs – like clothing or a pair of shoes. Most people take for granted the luxury of owning a pair of shoes, but for a poor child who has never had a pair of shoes, it can be a life-changing moment!

We have started this blog because we know that you want to learn more about the children and their families who endure the daily struggles of living in poverty. And even more important, you want to know how you can help end poverty!

The first thing you can do is visit this blog often. Come back so you can see for yourself firsthand the difference you can make in a child’s life. And the second thing you can do is submit your own comments, experiences or even ask questions. And of course, we believe the real value you can bring is to , is share this site with your friends and family!

We’ll be posting information about the countries where we work, videos, photos, and much, much more! See you soon.

Welcome to the blogosphere or perhaps in this instance we can refer to it as the philanthrosphere -as in philanthropy. As a Children International donor I am excited that you are blogging, its a great way to connect with others who share similar interests and raise awareness with those who have yet to hear about your important work. I would suggest that you encourage people to interact with you in much the same way we have.

We are especially excited about the wonderful efforts of another Children International donor: Karen Jacobsen.

She, like Bonnie Lunt, Jane Kaye-Bailey, Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey and many other's have decided to make a difference and done so as philanthropic travelers. We anticipate the opportunity to facilitating additional heart to heart relationships that strengthen support for Children International and build personal relationships between donors and beneficiaries in Calcutta, India; Lusaka, Zambia: Kenya, Uganda, and Ecuador.

Wow! Awsome site David. Angelina Jolie's video brought tears to my heart. She is my HERO in all that she does with her time and money. She has accomplished so much. I wish our country had more like her. I sponcer 1 girl in columbia and it is so uplifting and rewarding. If every one gave up one drink a day and used that $ to support CI, what a difference it would make. Sincerely, Dana in Hershey, Pa.
